American Humanists challenge "God" in Pledge of Allegiance
Submitted by Matt on 14 February, 2012 - 21:59Yesterday, February 13 2012, the American Humanist Association argued in Massachusetts Superior Court that the state’s constitutional equal rights amendment should bar the practice of public schools conducting a daily flag-salute exercise that utilizes the version of the Pledge of Allegiance that includes the phrase “under God.”
NASA discovery of new form of life is catalyst for theological debate

The discovery of a bacterium that can substitute arsenic for phosphorus is seen by many as potentially “redefining life,” broadening the scope of conditions capable of sustaining life on Earth.
American Humanists decry stem cell research ruling
Submitted by Matt on 24 August, 2010 - 18:27An injunction by a federal judge has put federally funded stem cell research on hold across the US, compromising the progress of vital medical breakthroughs, the American Humanist Association (AHA) said today. U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth ruled on Monday that funding of stem cell research violates a federal ban on taxpayer dollars going towards the destruction of embryos.
